Grade 5 & 6 Students are exposed to an economic way of life through an ‘Earn and Learn’ program, where students are actively engaged in the running of a economic community within the classroom. Here the classroom is transformed into a business hub where students have professions and pay pretend money to other people for their services. They pay rent, rates, earn an income, perform a job and gain an understanding of how an economic environment operates.
